The blockchain hype wave of 2014-2016 has crested and financial institutions are moving beyond conversation into meaningful investments and implementations using blockchain and blockchain-based distributed ledger technologies. Greenwich estimates that 2016 blockchain investment will end up around $300MM for banks alone with a higher number for 2017. Payments is a critical focus area for this technology with several high-growth companies such as Ripple and SETL serving the market. Fintech Lead - North America at Accenture

Tommy Marshall has spent his 20+ year management consulting career focused on digital financial services and Fintech. His role at Accenture is to bring Accenture’s depth in banking, capital markets, insurance, finance & regulation together with Accenture’s Fintech accelerators, Liquid Studios, and Innovation Labs to craft meaningful capabilities for financial services institutions. Tommy is a member of the blockchain leadership team at Accenture. Over the past three years he has mentored 4 blockchain start-ups and led teams to complete proof-of-concepts in payments and capital markets. Tommy is a graduate of Davidson College and holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University. He has called Atlanta home for the past eight years.
